Safety.Foundation develops and communicates foundational safety principles and their role within the independent NEDION ecosystem.
It provides a public home for foundational safety concepts, including constitutional and non-negotiable safety where those concepts are formally assigned to this domain.
Why foundational safety matters
Safety is not only a performance target, technical requirement or quantity to optimise. Some safety questions concern the underlying conditions that make responsible coexistence, cooperation and human flourishing possible.
Safety.Foundation provides a place to examine and communicate those foundational conditions while keeping them distinct from regulation, certification, institutional governance and peer-reviewed scientific research.

Safety.Foundation is the safety-governance and foundational-principles domain of NEDION Foundation.
It contributes foundational safety principles and public-benefit framing while other NEDION domains retain their distinct roles. Scientific safety research belongs to Safety.Science. Responsible use
Foundational concepts can be misunderstood when they are treated as enforcement tools, rankings or substitutes for evidence, law or democratic decision-making.
Safety.Foundation therefore distinguishes carefully between defining and explaining foundational principles and deciding how particular situations should be governed.
